I was thinking again about the Jade Shadows quest, and I am just so glad we got to see the Corpus be human for once.

During The New War we got to see that humanity in the Grineer, in Kahl, who was ready to sacrifice his life not merely for his faction, but for his brothers. A scene I absolutely loved.

Yet, when we later play as the Corpus, as Veso, even if he does defy Alad and fight in the end, he still does it "for profit". (I am just now noticing the hirony in the fact that Kahl didn't have a name yet and still acted more as an individual than Veso, who did have one)

So, that scene where the Corpus (well, the captain) heard a baby's cry and immediately stopped firing. Seeing that it was not a threat that the Stalker was hiding, but just protecting a child, and then moving out of the way to let them go... I think it's purpusefully filling that role, that space, that I didn't see/feel in The New War.

There's just something so incredibly human about it.

My favorite part about New War/the Drifter is that the DE team seems to have finally realized that since their game is rated M, they can use normal human swear words.

Nothing is funnier to me than the idea of Ballas selling the tenno out (and by extension, the orokin and humanity) to the sentients just because he was getting pissy about how the orokin treated him. Which I guess really does explain his "speeches" during the new war. Man has the moral fiber of waterlogged cardboard

I was really hoping we'd get a deeper exploration into the trauma of the Tenno children and how they were exploited when New War threw up that content warning but it was really just the one scene where you make the deal with Wally.

I miss him :( Veso is more relateable than Kahl to me. They should bring him back. I know they won't. But they totally should.
